We Call Ourselves Disciples
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) began in the early 1800’s on the American frontier. We now number 1,000,000 members from 4,000 congregations across the United States and Canada. Christian unity is our polar star and The New Testament is our guidebook. We seek to balance faith and reason in our mission and ministry.
Our Beliefs Include:
We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of the world.
We observe the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) each Sunday and invite all Christians
to participate.
We believe in the ecumenical nature of the church and affirm that no one church or denomination has a “corner on the truth.” Therefore, many of our members have diverse faith backgrounds.
We respect and value other religious faiths.
